Sonopuls 492 is a model of a combined physiotherapy device from Enraf-Nonius, which combines a 2-channel electrotherapy module and an ultrasound therapy module. The updated line of 4 series devices was presented in October 2013 and also includes Sonopuls 490, Endomed 482, Vacotron 460 devices.

Sonopuls 492

  • Specifications

Changes in the new series include a clear and intuitive user interface based on a color touchscreen display. Reducing the number of mechanical control elements made it possible to simplify the development of the device by medical personnel, significantly increase the reliability of the device and the manufacturability of service. It will become more convenient for users to work with built-in programs - protocols are accompanied by photographs of the location of the electrodes and text descriptions of the procedure (frequency and total number of procedures, location of electrodes, recommended current intensity). Built-in treatment protocols cover such areas as pain relief, improved blood circulation, edema reduction, myostimulation, muscle relaxation, incontinence, anti-inflammatory programs, an additional package of therapeutic programs has been prepared, supplied upon the request of the clinic.

Sonopuls 492 (like Sonopuls 190) provides independent operation of two channels of ultrasound therapy. Thus, it is possible to use ultrasound therapy on two therapeutic areas at once in one patient or to treat two patients.

Two independent electrotherapy channels of the Sonopuls 492 new device (similar to the Endomed 482 device) allows the use of most low and medium frequency current forms. The dimensions and weight of the new series of devices have been further reduced, which makes them easier to use outside of physiotherapy rooms. An optional built-in battery ensures continuous operation for several hours.

Thus, with the Sonopuls 492 device, it is possible to carry out therapy simultaneously through 4 channels simultaneously and independently: 2 ultrasonic effects and 2 electrotherapeutic ones.

Current waveforms reproduced by Sonopuls 492:

    • CHENS (symmetrical and asymmetrical)
    • CMT (sinusoidally modulated currents of the Amplipulse type, 1-4 kinds of work)
    • classical four-pole interference, isoplanar interference, variable vector interference
    • "Russian stimulation"
    • diadynamic currents (Bernard currents)
    • rectangular and triangular currents
    • galvanic current
    • microcurrent (10 μA - 1 mA)
    • high voltage pulses

The devices are equipped with new emitters (similar to the emitters in the portable Sonopuls 190 New device). The emitters are equipped with ultrasonic contact sensors, have a waterproof, but collapsible design, and an increased service life. It is possible to connect to the device simultaneously two emitters with different radiating surface area. The small emitter is intended for the treatment of small joints, for use in pediatrics, ophthalmology and dentistry. The ultrasound contact sensor constantly monitors the quality of the ultrasound energy transfer to the patient and promptly notifies the device operator about the insufficient efficiency of the ultrasound energy transfer to the patient.

    Features of Sonopulse 492:

    • 2 independent electrotherapy channels with 36 current forms
    • 2 independent channels of ultrasound therapy
    • Combined therapy mode (combined exposure to ultrasound and current)
    • Large LCD color touch screen
    • No mechanical control buttons
    • A package of preset protocols for the treatment of the most common diseases (25 ultrasound therapy protocols, 42 electrotherapy protocols, 2 combination therapy protocols)
    • Creation of custom therapy programs from one or several steps (more than a thousand custom programs)
    • Ability to save user programs on a USB flash drive and transfer to similar devices of this series
    • Small size and weight
    • The ability to install a battery for autonomous operation and complete with a carrying bag
    • Possibility of connecting the Vacotron 460 vacuum electrode placement module.
